San Juan to Makati

First at a Fire

Meralco, San Juan fire department, then Meralco, then engineering, looked at the post, if I remember correctly. Photo taken: 1:30 pm.

Electric sparks from a post outside our house last April 5 made me think of the 187 M. Paterno fire.  Thanks to former resident DS for giving me the address.

L to R: Fire Fighter Group hotline 16016, San Juan National Capital Region Bureau of Fire Protection. 4:56 pm.

Who do you call when a fire breaks out?

The sticker says, 'Emergency dial 522-22-22. ' Photo taken at 4:57:03 pm.

Who were first to arrive?  I don’t know what time each fire department or organization was called, but I thought I’d come up with a list of fire trucks that were within the same frame as the house on fire.

Engine 1 donated by Mr. & Mrs. Daretto (?) Sy. Mandaluyong Fire Station numbers: 532-24-02 or 21-89. 4:57:09 pm.

Incidentally, painted over Engine 190 of the DILG Bureau of Fire Protection are the words, ‘If this vehicle fails to respond in 5 minutes within your AOR call or text the regional director BFP-NCR Smart: (0908)660-9247  Globe: (0927)794-5721.’

Stickers: First Fire Rescue, Fire Brigade & Communications Group Inc. 1977 367-9720 hotline.

I assume that AOR means area of responsibility?

PLDT and Globe showed up the next morning. Photo: 3:49:30 pm.

Globe’s Blackberry Event

I went to Plains and Prints because it was nearest the entrance near Podium, where I parked.

My friend  invited me to be her ‘dance partner‘–invite’s term–to ‘Lucky 0917′ for subscribers who have been loyal to Globe Telecom since 1994, six years before I had my first cell phone. 🙂  She invited me because I’m so lucky, having won a Sony TV, a portable black-and-white TV, a trip to Amanpulo, the top Mooncake Festival prize like cash and thermos.

The Globe prize is a Limited Edition White Blackberry Bold 9700 that she doesn’t really care for as it is too big for her, but can give to someone.

The saleslady correctly guessed that I am a Medium.

I  had earlier invited her to the Appetite Restaurant Festival later this month.

Anyway, back to ‘Lucky 0917‘:  We had planned this last week, but it was only yesterday that I read her email, with the attached invite, which said that the attire was chic white.

She said it took her secretary at least six minutes to call a number for confirmaton.  Upon confirmation, Globe reminded her secretary about the attire.

She told me that we could probably get in even though we were wearing another color.  I thought that there might be a special prize for those in ‘costume,’ so I went to Megamall to get this dress.

I had emailed Globe to say that my bill printout had very small font, and told them that I wanted out of the paperless billing system.  This, after I had used the P 100 Jollibee GC.

I got this response from them:

“Good day to you.

We appreciate the time you have taken in writing us your concern.

We regret to learn that you are having difficulty in accessing your bills online. We would suggest if you are having difficulty in printing and viewing your bill we recommend you to download the latest adobe acrobat reader. For Globe myBill viewing, website works best on modern browsers like:

– Internet Explorer 7 and 8

– Firefox 3.0 and above

– Opera

– Safari

Meanwhile, based on our records your account is already enrolled on the Paperless Billing. You may receive your billing statement through your e-mail. Hence, if you still having difficulty in the access of your Globe bill just give as feedback on the Bill Number you have not receive.
